Copenhagen

Well, it’s coming down to the wire for me here in Alaska. I leave for Europe This coming Tuesday the 29th and i’m now starting to feel the excitement of it. Although I will miss Laura and my kitties quite a bit this trip is a culmination of over 20 years of wanting to get over to Europe and at the doorstep of 37, I finally am! And going for almost 4 months at that! I guess i’m doing it right. LOL. Anyway, as most of you know, I’ll be playing music quite a bit over there so it’s not all tourist and games but I will make the most of my off time roaming around Copenhagen immersing myself into the culture, taking pics, video, practicing Danish and posting it all here! Some general info on Denmark and Copenhagen can be found here. LONELYPLANET Denmark COPENHAGEN (By the way, Laura bought me their guidebook to Copenhagen and I got the Lonelyplanet Scandinavian phrasebook. I HIGHLY Recommend their book.) It’s weird to think about spending so much time in a country that doesn’t speak English natively. I’m thinking about all the menus being in Danish, signs, bus info, train info etc…I’m sure after a while I’ll learn what different words mean and pick up some phrases but I’ll probably end up in the more touristy places at first until I get more comfortable with it. I do know that many Danes do speak English and especially so in Copenhagen which is the capital city.
