Confidence Continuum
It’s an important part of being an artist. We can be very insecure at times and it can be hard to gauge whether what you are doing has any validity in other people’s eyes. If you’re trying to make a living through your art then you have to have something that other people value in order for them to buy it. Now, if you’re only doing your art for your own self expression and joy then this shouldn’t even be a consideration for you. More power to you and keep on creating!! For the rest of us Confidence is key! Whatever you have to do to develop it, work on it because you have to have some thick damn skin to mix commerce with your art!
I’ve been on quite a journey these last years. The beginning of 2008 took me to Europe and gigs all over Northern EU and Switzerland. That period took me up until January of this year. In that time I met and became engaged to a beautiful woman who became my wife this April. I ended a 6 year period of being based in Alaska and decided to move to Los Angeles to try film School. Ultimately though my passion for music extends far beyond the audio realm of film. I discovered that while I am interested in telling stories through motion pictures I would prefer to tie it in with my music pursuits. To that end we’ve decided to relocate to Nashville, TN to make that a reality and I couldn’t be more Jazzed!!! I’ve been working on new material and my songwriting in general since the release of my last CD in 2004 and I have many many albums worth of material. I continue to work on new material for my artist endeavors as well as my writing contemporary songs to try to publish and ultimately have other artists cut. Add to that my interest in producing, engineering, session work, road work and gigs and that should get ya started thinking about where I’m heading as an artist. For film, I’m interested in creating music videos for up and coming artists and will pursue that direction. Overall, it should be fun times!!
I’m looking forward to a great summer of working on new songs, recording an acoustic album of my material and doing a video for one song hopefully!! As long as you’re going forward then I would say you’re going in the right direction!

Going forward is a very good thing Sean. Keep on the path!
