Crying Has Always Been Easy For Me

Tears of joy and tears of sorrow come in the middle of the night.
It’s the quite time for me when My mind can slow down to reflect on how lucky I am
All the pent up emotion finally breaks through in a wave and I feel free
You see, crying has always been easy for me. I take after my momma that way
I find it’s kinda like an emotional cleansing. Ya get tired of having to hold it all in cause emotion is not something a man can express in this society. It can be music, a beautiful song that connects me to a memory or a feeling. It can be a movie with dreamy imagery and an evocative score that sets my emotions free. I just let it come man.
I feel the waves building. That chill starts to rise from within, the goosebumps rise on my skin and the water starts to well in my eyes working it’s way up the tunnels to the swollen tear ducts then finally it is released like Super Volcano!
There is nothing like the feeling of hope and calm you attain after such a sweet release.
It’s kinda like being reborn with a new chance. A reset from which your compass could re-calibrate towards your true magnetic north. Life has a way of throwing us all off course and that builds upon itself over time until one day you realize you don’t know where the hell you are. You know you aren’t where you wanted to go but you don’t know how to get back to where you should be. If you listen closely in the deep silence of the night, eventually your body will remind you. The subtle emotion will begin to seep from within and all at once you’ll understand. Let it point to your true north. It’s the only way for you to go.
