So Copenhagen….It’s a very modern, cosmopolitan city, yet contains some very old customs that make it endearing. The people here are MUCH more stylishly dressed and on the Whole WAY WAY thinner then in The US. Crime is low and you don’t have that seedy violence vibe where you’re on the lookout all the time while walking the streets of the City. Ya know, this is typical travel brochure shit here so I won’t ramble on about it except to say that for an American it’s a very different and interesting place to hang out.

So I got here, started learning the lay of the land a bit, which buses and trains to catch to go to gigs, when they run, where to get a bus pass, etc. Been hitting the grocery stores to stock up on some food and have been learning about the different foods they have and they are almost ALL different brands than in the US and of course, everything is in Danish!!..Fun experience eh? By the way, My heardburn has been Much better even though I’ve been eating roughly the same type of foods as I do back home..The Flat they have us staying is basically shit though..No Internet or WIFI That I can pirate although some people seem to have PCs that can get it but it’s slow as hell anyway..I do not yet have a European Cell phone and it’s going to be a while before I get one due to $$$…Note to self…GET A TRI-BAND PHONE next time I come over. It’s not really cost affective on either end, whether its an American Cell or a European Cell, to call home on one..Better to get a Global One calling card and use a land line..IF you can find one that is!! That is my plan for now though..If I decide to come back to Copenhagen more often after this stint, I will think about getting a Cell but for now, I really don’t think I need one. I will admit not having internet here in the flat to surf before and after gigs, etc is a big big big bummer for a guy who’s been jacked into Broadband for over a decade and who spends 12-16 hours a day connected to the web!!…I suspect it’s withdrawals not unlike someone who’s quit a habit goes through. There’s a cool internet cafe where I can buy some coffee and surf for free, so that’s where i’m posting this from and that’s where I will be a few hours a day several days a week I suspect!!

Anyway, that’s about it for now except to say that I’ve done 2 gig thus far and the staff and crowds of Rosie Mcgee’s have been friendly and seem to like what I do. There are a bunch of Standard songs all the”Troubadours” that play here have to do, and it’s astonishing that there are so many tunes that are popular here that are just not played in the US and the songs that are, are songs like Country Roads, Sweet Home, Brown Eyed Girl etc…There are some other “hits” here that aren’t so big at home as well but I know most of them save for certain Irish standards that I’m told I have to learn. I may or may not over time…We’ll see…Last thing is it’s expensive here…A draft beer liter of the local Tubourg Beer is equivalent to $12 American!!! HOLY FUCKING SHIT!!!!!! More to come soon with pics!!! Stay tuned!!
