About

“I’m definitely in a different phase of my life, both creatively and personally and I think it shows in the music I’m creating”. Sean Mormelo has been a traveling troubadour, road warrior for over 20 years, steadily making a living at what he loves doing. This multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and singer has played all over North America, most of northern and central Europe, the UK and beyond. His soul searching sent him to Alaska in 95 where he stayed to soak up the vibes for 2 1/2 years becoming one of the most popular and loved performers on the Anchorage music scene. ” I fell in love with Alaska” he says. “Basically I went up for the summer and stayed for almost 2 1/2 years!”

Ultimately the desire to stretch out musically took him out of there and all around the US, finally settling back in the South FL music scene where he came from.  Cutting his teeth playing over 200 shows a year from 98-June 03. He released and independent CD, REAL in 2002, opened up for The Edgar Winter Group at 2002′s Sunfest Music Festival in West Palm Beach FL and made many fans. However so many shows started to burn him out so in June 03 he relocated back to Alaska for a more relaxed lifestyle. Soon he was again a popular performer around the state and he released his 2nd CD, Troubadour in July 2004.

Lots of touring around the US in 05 and some time spent in Nashville convinced him he had to stretch out further. In January 08 Sean took off for Denmark and embarked on 2 solid years of gigging all around Europe. “It was an incredible and fertile period for me” he states. After almost 2 years of going back and forth between EU in the US he’s ready to finally relocate to Nashville, TN to investigate songwriting, performing and producting opportunities there. “I’ve always recorded and produced other artists and I’m excited to work with great singer songwriters in that capacity” Sean’s also done a lot of sideman work on Bass, guitar and keys as well as co-writing and engineering.

Currently he’s working on his 3rd solo CD that will be acoustic based as well as a full lenth fully produced Band CD. “My main mission is to just continue to get better and better as a performer and writer” he says, “and I think Nashville is the place to base out of both for it’s fertile musical environment and central location for a touring singer songwriter vagabond Troubadour like me” :)
